Default AVS Media DVD Player

http://www.avsmedia.com/DVDPlayer/index.aspx

I'm looking at retiring the InterVideo WinDVD4 software that came with my
Latitude D800. It has some problems with some of those "special" copy
protected discs from Sony (meaning that it crashes horribly when confronted
with such a disc) and has video problems with others. I tried a trial of the
newest release of WinDVD, but it installed a bunch of stuff I didn't want
without asking (InterActual player was on the list) and the uninstaller
thought it should remove my winnt\system32 folder. (!!!!)

CyberLink seems to be a lot better, but I don't feel like paying for it.
VideoLAN is nice but a little unpolished in spots.

I'd like to know if anyone has tried the AVS software in the link above.
What did you think of it?

William
