Today I added a second SATA hard drive to my E520 system. It "clicked"
into the blue plastic bay fine. I connected the power cable fine, but
couldn't find another blue data cable to connect the drive too inside
the system. Is this cable missing? I have an extra one that might work
but I couldn't find a place to plug it into on the motherboard. Where
should the second blue cable be plugged into?
they usually come in pairs if there is another connector it should be by the
one in use.
I don't have a 520 so I am just guessing

So I'm trying to hook up my own blue data cable for the new drive.
Like I mentioned above, it appears that the two data plugs on the
motherboard are in use. One has a blue cable hooked up for the primary
drive and the other has an orange cable going to the DVD drive. Are
there other plugs somewhere on the motherboard or do I have to remove
the DVD burner cable and hook the DVD up another way?

To add to that, the computer does NOT come with the SATA cable. It
requires a right angle Sata cable
Tracy,
I just put this in a Dell E521 w/Seagate 500GB, last week, purchased from
NewEgg.com. Worked like a charm. I don't think you need more than a 24 inch
cable, but make sure that one end has a 90 degree angle connector.
$ 1.99 for cable
$ 4.99 for 3 day UPS shipping. Cost for shipping this item was less cause I
bought other with the order.
--------
$ 6.98
You should be able to find something similar at places like BestBuy, Radio
Shack, or stores that sell Computers and accessories. http://www.radioshack.com/product/in...entPage=search

Where is the cheapest place to get one? If you could please provide
direct product link(s) that would be most helpful.
Just placed an order from SVC for a 24" SATA II right angle cable. The
18" might have been ok but I got the 24" just to be sure it would fit
in any of the SATA ports.
