Default Problems with M2N-e SLI overheating

Hy.I bought a new pc recently. All the parts a perfectly new. This is what i got.
Asus M2N-E-SLI,a AMD 5600+ Athlon X2 CPU ,4gb Mushkin at 800Ghz , an ASUS EN8800GT 1Gb,and an Antec EarthWatts at 380 Watts.
A Seagate baraccuda 500gb.
Dvd,floppy,all in a Nexus catterpillar.
The case has 2x 120mm fans.
My problem is the next one....after instaling Windows Xp sp2,i instalesd a utility called ASUS Pc Probe II i realised that there is a problem with the big temperature of the motherboard.Checked the temperature in Bios and also used Everest. The same.My motherboard stays at 45-50 C in idle.
I had before this a other pc...the only things changed where the video....a ASUS 8600GTS 256,and 2 gb of RAM Samsung 667.
There...the temperature stayed on the motherboard ussualy at 30-37.
So...I guess something is wrong with my new pc.
Curios is that all my other parts are cold....all the fans work.
Right now i started the pc...it had 42c and in 5 min gone up to 50.
i will try to post a screenshot with the temp in my pc.
home someone can help me...because i am running out of ideas.

For the sort of CPU that you are using I'd be giving the power supply a little thought... here's a Power supply calculator and you are using 4Gb ram to boot.... fast CPUs need good stiff power supply regulation some can cope and some can't.

You can appreciate you really can't compare one build to another unless they are exactly the same, may be looking up the CPU temp. would give a reasonable indication, I don't believe in all these gizmo's simply because they are never accurate... not even the temperatures given in bios they only give an indication.

How did you mount the CPU? Using those thermal tabs you'll get about 3 or 4 deg C. compared to using Arctic silver or similar.... again put too much of this paste on and you might as well use non at all, so here's another thing to add to the equation of temperature rise...

...you only need just a smear to fill all the craters in the two surfaces, known people to put it on as though they are greasing a gear box on a wagon.

Best bet is to start at the beginning and work through logically, the PSU calculator is a good start, then maybe try the old graphic card if you can but that shouldn't create that sort of temperature rise.

You might also be getting 'hot spots', places where the hot air accumulates waiting to be evicted.. this itself may well be the problem since you said everything feels cold.
