Is ASUS MB P5GC-MX 1333 compatible with Pentium 4 Prescott 630? My newly build system would not post. Please help!
I pulled a cpu (p4 630) from an old Dimension 5150. I am trying to reuse that cpu for a new build machine. The new board that I have is Asus P5GC-MX/1333. Right now, the new system would not post. After I turn on the machine, the CPU fan and case fan would come on, but there was no beeping sound. Of course, nothing was displaying on the monitor as well. I tried to pull the cpu and boot the system without cpu just to see if it would do anything different, and it behaved the same. Am I supposed to get some beeping sounds if I don't have a processor on my MB?
I have no idea where is the problem right now. Please let me know if you have any suggestions.
No post... cpu or motherboard?
