Hi I have a question for anyone that can help me. I have a Gateway computer Model# gm5442 It has windows vista home premium installed My motherboard I'm not sure of the model number, but it has sata ports on the motherboard itself and My hard drive is a sata compatable hard drive and it is plugged into a sata port on the motherboard I believe it's Sata 0 as I only have 1 hard drive in my system a 500 gig 16 meg cache Now everything seems to me to be okay with the hard drive and the fact that the sata cable is plugged into the correct sata port on the motherboard, but now when I boot into the bios by hitting F2 on the startup when I go into drive configuration it says configure sata as IDE when I first got the computer it said configure sata as Raid. I changed that because I was only using 1 hard drive and I'm not stripping or anything like that mirroring. So I'm wondering if there is any special configuration that I have to do in the bios to configure my hard drive to recognize it as sata instead of telling me that it is configured as ide. So that I can get the faster transfer rates speeds which I believe is 150 Mb for each slot. If anyone could tell me hopw to do this it would be great!
