Hi to all I am new at this and looking forward to some help. And maybe in the future I can help someone else.
I have a problem and that is,
I was given a computer ( CPU ) ( PT 111 ) with windows 2000 network.
I proceeded to load windows XP Pro and eliminate windows 2000 network on the system. And all went well , So I put in a second CD-Rom, Now I have no CD-Rom icon under my computer. How can I get it back.
Also How can I Identify the two Cd-Roms in the CPU.
So I have 3 Questions. Can someone help me.
1 I need an Icon
2 I need the drivers
3 I need to Identify the cd-roms.
If the icon isn't there then the unit is probably not installed or faulty, it could even be the IDE lead itself.
Have a look in Device Manager clicking Start, right click My Computer, left click on Properties at the bottom of the window and right click the Hardware tab.. and you are there.... left click on Device Manager in the top pane and then looking for the CD/DVD drives in the new window, click the little + sign in the box and it'll open, there you will be able to test the device and check and install the drivers.
It could also quite easily be the configuration and the way you installed it... i.e Slave, Master, if in any doubt try Cable Select.
