Question Logitech cordless mouse dysfunction?

Hey folks,

My mouse is playing up. It's a Logitech cordless w/keyboard. Prob started several months ago. Mouse & keyboard bought in April '04. When I try to highlight text with a left-click, it skips over text. (That means, often, that the words I'm trying to highlight get shifted around -- annoying when I want to copy and paste stuff in docs.)

Anybody know what the prob could be? (I've dropped it by accident a few times from a short height over the past 3 years, but nevertheless nothing's broken.) It clicks correctly on links, and otherwise moves where I want it to.

Cheers,
RS

Have you tried to reinstall the Logitech driver? Have you tried fresh batteries (I know it sounds silly but this question still has to be asked ). Is there any RF interference?

OC, thanks for the reply. Yes, I have already changed the batteries. No RF interference. Haven't reinstalled the driver yet -- how would I do that? Do I reinstall the driver from the CD-Rom which came with it, or from a net download?

Yes, from here: http://www.logitech.com/index.cfm/su...ads/downloads/

Before you do that you may also want to try the standard windows (non-logitech) driver. Just uninstall your Logitech software and reboot.
