Default How to determine what the RAID configuration is on a system?

Hello,

I have searched the web for this and haven't been able to find the answer.

The general situation could be you inherit a system with knowing nothing about it.(My situation is that I may have set up a RAID on my system a year ago or just thought about it(I don't remember)....now Norton Ghost 2003 has caused me not to reboot(fixed that) but now doesn't work. One of the causes could be it doesn't work with a RAID so I need to eliminate that as a potential cause. If I did set up a RAID, it most likely would have been a RAID-1, a mirror as I was having HD problems before and I would have wanted an exact copy to plug in if the first HD failed. I doubt I did this as had 500gb and 250gb HDs. Doesn't RAID-1 require the same size HDs?)

QUESTION:: How does one determine the RAID configuration, HD configuration of a system? Whether it is a Hardware RAID or Software RAID?
Please be as detailed as you can.

Thanks in advance for your help.
