HELP: Nothing on Monitor after disassembly

I disassembled my Presario 2100 to sauder the power plug. I put everything back together but nothing on the monitor. The lights for the hard drive and power indicate that the computer is working... I checked the monitor plug but that also seemed okay... what could be the problem... I also have my finals, presentations and tons of papers due. so please can anyone help?
