Default Good power supply upgrade for Gateway FX6710-01 PC?

anyone know a good power supply upgrade for Gateway FX6710-01 PC? it has a 400watt now but I'm looking for 500watt or higher. any specific ones would be helpful so I don't by an incompatible one.

Putting a slightly bigger one in is wise, it's only the mobo that determines the amount of power drawn. the bigger one will be idling along more easily than one of lower wattage.

Here's a calculator to play with Power Supply calculator.

The heavier they are the better they are.... because the heavier ones is more likely to have better heatsinking inside to compared to some of the 'El cheapos'

Heres some help that may help you decide Power supply Buyers guide and a Power supply comparison test.

They all do the same job one of the better brands is Antec, there are one or two others.
