hi, i'm new here and hope this is where i should post this. anyway, i have an older pc motherboard made by Aspire/Acer. if i have the pc running, and click on restart or, i download something and i click on ok for restart it shuts down comes back up to the screen which says ACER as usual before booting up but, just sits there on that screen saying ACER and will not go any further? i have set system bios to default thinking that might help but, no go. any info would be appreaciated! Thanks Steve

Does the computer make any sound after restart? i`m curious if the ROM is read after restart, because the system hangs at the manufacturer logo.
hi, and thank you for the response. the pc makes no system beep sounds or sounds of any kind after clicking restart. just comes up to the Acer screen and just sits there and never boots up. for that matter, it makes no system beeps or any kind of noises when turning on after a complete shutdown but, will boot up from a complete shutdown? Thanks again!

I think that it cause by 2 possible issues. Things to do:
1. Try to update your BIOS if u can find a newer version for your Motherboard
2. Run a memorytest86, should be your memory the problem when the ROM count the available memory, but usualy an error message displays, this is what I`m worried.
3. If is possible try to start the system with another PSU, if the computer is old enough the PSU could send wrong voltages and the regulators from Motherboard cause the problem.
