I have a compaq presario 7360, when I turn it on, it goes to the compaq screen and does nothing else. I've tried to reboot, I tried to use recovery disk, and I have even changed the battery out.

Some Compaq systems will display more detailed information in place
of the logo if you push the escape key when the system is starting
up.

I'd be suspicious of a dead hard disk drive or an optical drive
failure.

What happened before this failure took place? Did you just turn the
system on and find it was uncooperative?
