I have Nero 6 installed on an older machine, running Windows 98SE.
For a while, it made data CDs just fine. Then one day it stopped
making data CDs larger than (I'm guessing) 200 MB.
In particular, it starts to make the CD, then about halfway through
the process, it says that an illegal action has happened, and the burn
has failed.
It still makes music CDs of any length, and makes them correctly.
I use CDRs, of various brands. Same results regardless of brand.
Does someone have a good idea as to how I can persuade my machine to
start burning data CDs again?
Thank you!

Also, your burner is ancient, and was marginal at best when new. Odd's are
that this is either bad media or a dying burner. You're already burning at
4x, which is too slow for high speed media. It's hard to say for sure, but a
new CD writer is about $30 shipped.
