I have an older Win 98SE computer.
I want to install two cd drivers, one will be a cd burner the other
will be the regular cd crive which came with the computer.
WHich is the better configuration as far as master/slave drive is
concerned

Ideally, try to put them on separate channels if you plan on using them
as a copy machine. The best may be to have the reader as a slave to the
hard drive, and the writer as a master on the other channel.
A smh posted, also verify that DMA mode is enabled if the drives support
it (the writer should, but a Win98 era reader may not.)
