I asked around about this about 6 years ago when I first bought a
burner. The advice was that Mad in Taiwan was questionable, and Made
in Japan was good, regardless of brand name. Is this still the case?
I've tried some made in Taiwans, they seemed OK, has the quality
improved? And is the Japanese stuff still the best?

My own preference is to go with a vendor I trust on a line I know. Try http://www.am-dig.com/
Their non-logo T-Y discs - DVD and CD - have proved to be very fine and
moderately priced in quantity. Top-of-the-line product (e.g., MAM-A
Gold) is measurably better, but not by enough to justify the higher
price except for mastering for a pressing plant.

Virtually anything I've ever used seems to write and verify ok and I've
never not been able to recover data from media so written. This doesn't
prove all media is equal but does mean I don't much care. I've had mp3's
sitting in my car for ages and they play fine. Of course, mp3's might
have a few errors and still play ok.
