Default New Card (again!)

Hi,

I got some excellent advice on here which prompted me to upgrade my
aged 9800XT to an X1950 Pro 512MB.....but I'm not having to RMA it as
after 6 months or so it has become corrupt. I've just been on the
phone to Ebuyer whom inform me that the X1950 is now discontinued!
Booo!

I want to spend about the same amount on a new product (which should
technically mean a slightly better card 6 months on).

Any suggestions?

It has to be AGP. I run Windows and most games at 1680 X 1050. I don't
have Crossfire capabilities on my board.

What is the HD 3850 like? I know that this is an ATI group but if
anyone has a decent NVidia suggestion I may go for that.

Cheers.

All i have to say is that you are very lucky to get working
combinations without wasting a lot of money on many cards and
motherboards (combinations that were supposed to work).
