Hydravision - open on desktop 2 by default

Hi All --
I have a system that runs 3 virtual desktops managed by Hydravision.
Upon start-up, all applications open on desktop 1 by default, but I
want some of them to run on desktop 2 instead. Right now, every time I
boot, I then click through the Hydravision interface and move
application windows manually to desktop 2. I'm really tired of doing
that. Is there a way to:
- force an application to open on desktop other than the currently
visible, or
- programmatically move an application's window to another desktop by
calling into the Hydravision API (via COM)?
Unfortunately, ATI's support turned out to be rather useless (I didn't
really expect much anyway).

System: Windows XP x64 SP2; Dell ATI Radeon x300 (dual-monitor), ATI
Catalyst 8.5.
