I'm using ATI RADEON x1600 and Gigabyte P965-S3 main board. When I
play a movie file, the entire screen blinks 2 or three times. This
happens under Windows XP or Windows Vista when I installed the latest
ATI driver. It doesn't happen if I use the old version of the driver
that came with the video card installation CD (on XP) or the default
driver (on Vista).
Does anyone of you have the same problem like me? Could you tell me
some possible cause of this problem? I asked the graphics card seller
but they said they didn't know. Could it be due to the main board?
This really annoys me. To use OpenGL 2.0 under Windows Vista, I have
to install the latest version of the ATI driver, then every time I
open a movie file, the screen blinks...
1. In Catalyst Control Center (or ATI Tray Tools), make sure the brightness,
contrast, gamma, etc. for "desktop" and "fullscreen 3D" modes are the same.
2. Make sure anti-aliasing and anisotropic filtering are set to "let
application decide".
3. Change the rendering mode in your media player app. Toggle things like
"overlay", "video mixing renderer (VMR)", etc.
