Hi All,
I'm having the hardest time trying to find the right cable for my
video card. It's a VisionTek 256MB X1300 DMS59 SFF PCI-e (Graphics by
ATI). It supports dual monitors. The splitter cable that came with
the card broke during a move. I thought it would be easy to replace
but I cannot find what I need anywhere. Perhaps I'm just dense.
Anyway, the pinset on the piece that plugs into the video card is just
solid round pins, none of those flat pins that you see on most DVI
cables. No gaps or anything in the pin config either. Basically
looks like a VGA pin config but with more pins. The video card only
accepts that pin config too. The only splitters I can find anywhere
seem to always have that flat pin which won't work. I bought a
splitter online, but it came the same way and most online sites don't
show you both pin configs. Does anyone know what the name of this
type of cable is so I can buy it online with some assurance it's the
right kind?
That port is called "DMS59", like the name of the card implies. It basically
packs two DVI ports into the space of one, to fit on a low-profile bracket.
Use one of these splitter cables to get "normal" DVI ports out of it. http://www.google.com/products/catal...16920545805104
