8.52??? The latest official driver should be 8.6.

Anyway, I downloaded and installed the hotfix driver to
my Vi$ta x64. There was a black box covering the whole
screen after installation. I need to forcibly log out
and log back in. Bug?

Yes, 8.6 is latest official driver for 3870 but these are beta driver for
4800 series. I don't have my 4870 yet so can't really comment but did read
at HardOCP that they work fine. THat is where I found the link for them.

Don't know as I don't have my 4870 yet. I will be installling it to Vista64
too though so hope I doin't get any issues like yours. Joining a forum like
the one at HardOCP.com and asking about it there will be of much more use
to you than this usenet group.

Read this thread to explain the version number. There seems there could be
issues with this driver too so maybe don't use them.
