Default DAO question

I have an ATI X700 PCIE video card and have problems with it stopping
working at times. I've tried updating the drivers and control center
but the problems continue. When updating the software ATI says to remove
all of the old software and look for a mention of "DAO" in the installed
items in control panel. DAO is never found there. Does this mean that
something was not installed properly and what is DAO? Any help will be
appreciated.

It's used for the Library function of MMC with AIW & VIVO cards. Doubt it's
installed when using a graphics only card.

When my X700 PICE card had problems I found the fan had stopped working
(or never did)and it was HOT! Because the card was only a week old I got
it replaced. Anyway you might want the check/clean the cooling fan.
