Default Best drivers for 9550

I have an older computer (P3-1g) with a 9550 card, running at 1280x1024.
I am currently using the Catalyst 5.8 drivers.

The latest Quicktime/iTunes update has seriously hurt the performance
when playing video podcasts. Do any of the newer Catalyst drivers offer
any enhancements for this older card?

That's not the fault of ATI. My advice is to remove QT/iTunes forever. I
used to have QT/iTunes on my 3 PCs. Always had some problems with video
playback when using other video players. Finally, I was determined not to
use any piece of software programmed by Apple and deleted QT/iTunes. I have
had zero problem since then.
