Default ATI And Dell Question

My daughter gave me a Dell which runs fine. I put in a Radeon 9250
card and the comp boots. After I install the driver, either from disk
or d/l latest from ATI, comp boots to a black screen. Anyone know how
or if this can be fixed? Thanks.

Which specific Dell model with whiich type of graphics? Inegrated Intel
video one would assume. And you're replacing it with a PCI 9250 Card. You've
entered the (F2) BIOS and disabled this? Personally, I would have gone with
the Vison Tek X1300 PCI 256Mb card if you wanted any actual 3D gaming
ability (450Mhz core /128bit memory 533 Mhz Memory). Their 1550 PCI card is
the same RV515 core clocked a bit higher. Either of these will walk all over
any 9250 or 5500 or 5700 PCI card.
