That is a nice mobo you have chosen.
I recently built a new system and opted for the Gigabyte GA-X48T-DQ6 but
fitted an Nvidia N9800GX2 but i am having intermitent trouble with this
combination and i wish i had got the 4870X2 as well as this mobo is
crossfire and not SLi.

Oh well, we live n learn.

yea, im running a 6000+ and ram that has no business on my current crapper
of a mobo lol, still i just cant seem to make my mind up on which brand of
4870 X2 to get XD there are too few reviews out there on em and the package
they come with. I would get a sapphire like my last 2 cards but my x1950pro
which i currently use came with thermal paste that made the card run at 94C,
which is a bit high, and a bit of a warning sign on future products in my
eyes lol. thats the whole reason im getin very picky

I have had Sapphire cards, and they are great. I just went from two Sapphire
3870 toxics, to a single Powercolour 4870X2, no complaints here.

Yea, my sapphire x1950pro has served me well, but the fact that the thermal
paste they used on it was low grade really lowers my oppinion of them, all i
had to do was clean it off and throw on some arctic silver and the degrees
went from 90s to max of 72 and it would be even lower if they had put a
decent sized heatsink on it lol

Most test show at most a 1-2 deg difference between Arctic Silver and the
generic silicone paste. The large difference you saw was probably due to too
much/too little paste used, or insufficient clamping pressure, not the
choice of paste. Still no excuse, though, considering the amount of manual
testing each card receives in the Chinese factories. :-)

Maybe there is no difference in temps , but i have yet to have Arctic Silver
turn into a powdery mess after just one year like the cheap stuff.

Yea, i have to agree with gman lol my experience with cheap paste has been
horrid, especially the stuff my work buys. I feel shamed to put it on any
cpu : P anywho, i ordered the gigabyte bord and a Powercolor 4870x2 today :3
cant bloody wait to test out crysis warhead on it lol
