Default X38 boards - When?

Does anybody have an idea when the X38 boards are coming?

I am considering buying a P5K board but might hold off if it sounds
like they are due out in a month or two. -- If instead I hear first
quarter of 08 I would probably not wait and just buy some version of
the P5K.

The X38 chipset launch is Monday. Boards should be following
within a few weeks:

That's good news. I think it's worth waiting then.

In a few weeks I'll build it up with a quad 6600 and some DDR2 and
then when the price of the next gen CPUs drops to a reasonable level
and the DDR3 comes down to commodity prices I'll have some nice
upgrade options.
