Default M2N-E memory

I understand the basic idea of dual channel memory but don't
understand the matrix shown in section 2.4.2 of
the User's Guide. What is it trying to tell me? Is it that the memory
operates in the Single Channel mode
if there is only one DIMM module, regardless of which slot it's in?
Dual channel mode(2) exists if all 4 slots
are populated?

Also, is there a problem with not being able to see more than 3 GB if
one uses 32-bit Vista?

TIA

Ed
