Default Express Gate question

I have a P5Q Motherboard with this, however I believe Asus has Express Gate
(Splashtop) on several other motherboards and laptops.

In my case, when switching the PC on, the main Express Gate menu comes up.
Then I can select the different options, say, Web. I then respond to the
'First time user' screens. Then - nothing - black screen.

I am using a 1680 x 1050 display, through a DVI output (there is no VGA
output). I don't think the display is the problem except for that. Does
anyone know if the output needs to be VGA? Does anyone have any other ideas?

I installed Express Gate from the CD supplied with the motherboard. It
created two folders in drive C. I can hear the hard disk being accessed
after I click on an option in the main Express Gate menu.

Any info will be appreciated.

Thank You

Henry.
