help with travelmate 4600

can someone please answer me this ...

i have an acer travelmate 4600, it still has
the hidden partition a d drive & the cd/dvd
drive.

its running xp pro with 2 x 512 mem cards.

i bought it second hand & whoever installed
the software on it could not have used the
hidden partition.

the reason is non of the 4 applications
that come supplied with this machine
were installed, i installed all but the
acer grid software as i will not use it.

it is starting to play up so i thought
read the manual use the hidden partition
to put it back to standard.

i do not have the disks to put it back
to the default hard drive.

i cannot get the machine to do anything
if i press alt + f10.

all software is installed except grid.

does this machine not do this.
