Convert Aspire 3680-2633 to XP

I like my Aspire 3680-2633, but it is often very slow. Cleaning up the
temp files helps somewhat, but the main problem is Vista Home Basic, I
think. I am thinking of cleaning off the drive and putting XP Pro on it.
Anyone have experience with that?
Pros?
Cons?
I am using it with its wireless.
