Default Brightness control

To change brightness level you have to press Fn + left/right arrow and
it works good.

Why this setting won't stay for the next time you'll start Windows?

Acer ePower Management will reduce the brightness to extend batery life.
Usually 13%.

Turn off the dim when on battery control in the BIOS.

If you're using Vista, you can change the default display brightness
for both mains and battery in the Power Plan settings.

'Mains' is British for AC power.

Power Plan is usually found by right clicking on the battery symbol in the
system tray (bottom right). Or try Control Panel.
