My computer had 1 stick of 512 pc4200 ddr2. I purchased a 1 GB of the
same type of RAM or so I thought. I was told that the ram that came
with the computer was low density and the stick I purchased was high
density. The 2 sticks would not work together but seperately they
worked fine. The person that I bought it from told me this(of course
it wasn't Acer support as they are not worth the call). My question
is am I able to use either high or low density just not able to
combine the two. Any help would be appreciated.

realise this......I ended up selling one and buying another via Ebay.
