Acer TravelMate8200, Need help on NIC

Hey

I have a Acer TravelMate8200 here which I've done a complete reinstall of
winxp on..

the problem is that I don't know how to install the NIC drivers. I've
downloaded the drivers from Acer, but not sure how to apply them to the
computer. I've read in the readme file for the driver that the driver should
be installed via RIS.. But I'm not using RIS.... The driver I'm trying to
install is the Intel Giga Lan Driver 9.2.24.0 driver

any suggestions?

Jeff, if you want to turn this monologue into something more
constructive, perhaps you can say what the "fix" involved, in case
someone else with the same problem comes across your thread.
