I recently reformatted my laptop, including partitioning hard drives.
Then I re-installed Windows XP, then I re-installed all drivers
downloaded from the Acer website, and after that I installed Windows
XP ServicePack 2.
At the beginning Windows was unable to find a file called
vxlibres.dll. I read about this problem on this forum and installed a
driver wich was actually designed for the 5670 (maybe not such a smart
decision). Now the file wasn't missing any longer. But my built in
camera now refuses to work. So I've de- and re-installed the proper
webcam drivers a few times but no luck. All I get now is the message
that the camera isn't connected.
Another problem that I have is that when i go to network connections,
I have no option whatsoever to check or set up available wireless
internet sources. The wireless internet option just dissapeared. Is
there any way I can recover that? The light on the wireless button on
the laptop isn't burning either.
(of all drivers that I've downloaded there is one called RealTek LAN
Driver that has no setup file so it's just a passive folder with a few
other files, I don't know what to do with it, maybe when I get that to
install the problem is solved? I have no idea I'm not so familiar with
software problems.)
Can these problems can be solved with an Acer recover disc? Or are the
files on that disc the same as the ones you can dowload off the Acer
site? I'm afraid my dad still has the cd and now he lives in Italy so
is there a possibility I can order such a disc at Acer?
