Default Cleaning Heatsink and fan blades


Anyone have any ideas on how it the best way to clean (in place) the
heatsink over the CPU?

How about the fan blades?

I've held my fan(s) in place and used a vacuum cleaner. (attachment
from my upright)

If posable unscrew fan from heat sink and clean, then that will give you
access to heat sink then use paint brush to clean heat sink and then
replace fan job done

Thank you. I have a tendency to be "heavy-handed" and was concerned about
getting the fan blades off balance and also wondered if any liquid was used.

Thanks. After removing the fan (4 screws) i used a hand held vacuum and an
old soft toothbrush.

Thanks. Things were clean-er after doing that. My concern with the brush
was pushing material down between the fins of the heatsink and as I
otherwise said, knocking the fan blades off balance.

You should use a can of Compressed Air, available at any computer store.
