You're current message headers read:
X-Newsreader: Microsoft Outlook Express 6.00.2900.3138
X-MimeOLE: Produced By Microsoft MimeOLE V6.00.2900.3198
After SP3 they will read:
X-Newsreader: Microsoft Outlook Express 6.00.2900.5512
X-MimeOLE: Produced By Microsoft MimeOLE V6.00.2900.5512
So, you will have the latest version of OE, but I don't believe there were
any changes. That said, while there will never be any improvements made to
OE, security issues will be addressed as lone as XP is supported at the very
least, but you will need SP3 to get any further OE updates.

Are you saying that if I have ie7 and SP2 I will have to uninstall IE7 if I want to
install SP3?

Fred,
SP3 does not include Internet Explorer 7. if by "Express 6" you mean
"Outlook Express 6", truthfully if you have Windows XP installed - you have
Outlook Express 6. It might get upgraded/patched with IE7 installs - but it
is still Outlook Express 6.
Alias,
Please explain, "you'll have to uninstall IE7 first"... I really do not
understand that part.

Then I guess if at any time I have to format the HD I would need to use my
current OEM SP2 disk with IE7/Outlook Express 6. Then install the SP3 from
the burned DVD.

Shenan:
If you have IE7 installed, you can currently uninstall it and revert back to
IE6. However, when you install SP3, it takes away the ability to uninstall
it and rollback to IE6.
So, MS says, if you want to have the ability to uninstall and revert back to
IE6, you need to uninstall IE7 *before* installing SP3. Then, once SP3 is
installed, you can reinstall IE7 and you will once again have the ability to
uninstall IE7.
