My old HP CD-ROM burner died.

I've been trying to find a DVD burner that will work with these
old 500Mhz Win-Me computers. I found these links for a Sony
DVD burner that can work without a computer and can work
with a computer running Windows 2000 or Windows XP but these
old computers can't run XP, I don't know about 2000.

Windows ME works with all my hardware and software so I want
to keep the setup I've got and I don't play games so these old
computers are good enough, What CD-ROM drives do you
recommend to run with this old hardware & software?

I'd kind of like a USB burner.

Nice unit!

Don't know why it requires win2k/xp when it seems to me that all you
need is Hi-Speed USB 2.0 which I believe is provided by one of the winme
updates. The real drawback I see with your 500MHz system is that it may
not handle DVD burns of 8x, let alone 16x, and video editing will be
slow.

How about settling for something like LG GSA-4163 and see how your
system handles DVD burns?
