Currently I have 1 Stick of PNY 512mb PC2700 DDR 333 Ram installed in
my computer. PC runs perfectly fine with that one stick of RAM
Installed.

Once I added a second stick of the same RAM, listed above my computer
goes berserk. My graphics card is not read correctly by Windows

And I have to reinstall drivers. And my PC is always running Check
Disk when it boots up. Various Programs load slowly. Errors on Disk
Defrager

So, as a test I ordered (2) Sticks of Kingston Technology Value Ram
which is 512mb 333mhz DDR PC2700 (Read off the Label of the Carton).
Which was made for my Motherboard from looking up my MB specs from
their Website

Inserted 1 stick of the Kingston Ram. PC Ran Perfect No Problems at
all. Installed Second stick of Kingston Ram, PC went berserk.
Graphics card was not read correctly, PC Ran Check Disk on boot up.
Various Programs load slowly. Errors on Disk Defrager. Programs would
take forever to load up.

When I have one stick of Ram installed it is in the slot nearest to
the Processor (DIMM 1), and when the second stick is installed it is
in the 2nd Slot (DIMM 2). Per the MB

Manual.

Do, I have to configure anything in the BIOS Setup so that the RAM
will run correctly

Any help will do, since Tyan Tech Support is slow, and all they send
is that stupid automated response with FAQ's to questions that do not
pertain to my MB

What OS? If it's Win 9x or ME, there's a tweak to the system.ini file that
needs to be made. If it's Win2K or XP, this won't apply.

I'm Running Windozes XP Home Edition. Is there a setting in the BIOS
I have to set for DIMM Voltage or anything along those lines????
Tyan Tech Support is pretty friggin slow. Never get an answer from
them, 'cept for those lame auto-response emails, with FAQ's that have
no bearing on my problem. And if I doooooooooo get a respnse it's
always "I'm not following what ur problem is"

TIA

I added a second stick of 512MB PC2700 to my Tyan 2495 over the weekend.
In the beginning it wouldn't recognize the second stick and my OS would
randomly freeze up. I ended up moving the second stick to the third DIMM
slot and re-installing Windows XP and everything has been running smoothly
since.
