Hello,

I'm trying to use a HP DVD300i burner on a Compaq Deskpro EP/6400 with
Windows 2000. According to the reference guide, the Intel 440BX board
supports ATA/33 mode for both IDE channels, but CD units run in PIO
only on any channel.
The BIOS is updated and shows the HD as Ultra DMA and the DVD as
Enhanced DMA. IDE controller drivers are updated to April 2001.
Is it a problem with the board (it dates back to about 1998), or
should I look for specific drivers?

Thanks,
TheLuke

I couldn't find the DMA option because... would you believe it?
The pull down menu for the transfer mode shows a single line with two
microscopic scroll buttons on the right I hadn't noticed before.
What a stupid interface. :(

Thank you,
TheLuke
