Hi,

Here is the situation...

I have 3 partitions for my 120GB HDD...

C: Windows 98 SE OS
D: Windows XP Pro SP1 OS
E: Program Files & My files/Doc/etc...

I installed Partition Magic 8 on my E: and wanted to resize E: smaller and give the that remaining space to D:... After I click Apply, it boots the computer and started its ~20 HOURS!!! (man how long does it take!!!) of process...

However after all of that, it comes up with the error 626, telling me that I can't apparently join partition, when one of them is used for booting... Norton doesn't give a warning about that (the only warning they give is that it is not advisable to join two boot partition together)... nor does it have solution for error 626.... how great....

Neway, after that, I press any key to continue its loading to Win XP. I was surprised on the question about how my driver for 3d card is missing, and suddenly all of these messages, like Norton anti virus, shortcuts, etc. is missing.... In agony I checked my HD partition, and found drive E: is missing.... I checked using Disk management (under administrative tool), and apparenty there is two partition, one is unknown and the other one is 10% free....

So my guess is the that unknown partition is my original drive E: and that 10% free space is the partition I took from E:...

So I wanted to somehow join that 10% partition with drive D: through DOS... but everytime I boot the rescue disk at start, it comes up with error 91...

Now, I have two questions to ask....

1.) is it possible to convert or recover this 'unknown' partition? because I got all of important stuff in there that I need to use....

2.) is it possible to join the 10% partition with drive D:, despite D: has Windows XP Pro SP1 OS?

Thanks for the time.... any help is appreciated.... At the moment, I turned off my computer and don't want to do anything to it until I find the solution to this problem.
