I have a new MB with AMDXP 2800 CPU. I have a good 512Meg DDR
module,unbuffered, 64x64 PC2700 CL2.5
Every time I try to install it by itself in Position #1 the computer freezes
and never get past the memory check. I have tried to change the memory
settings in the BIOS with no success.
Can anyone possible tell my the specifics I need to set in the BIOS?
I have used the DDR in a DELL computer today all day and it worked
flawlessly.

Thanks in advance,
John in Sacramento

Have you tried that stick of DDR in the other slot?

Does it boot normally if you change the clock in the BIOS to 100/100
instead of 133/133? If this is the case, it's very likely that your
current power supply is underpowered. Even if it is a 400W supply, it
may still not be capable of powering both that CPU and the DDR memory.
