Since this is a newsgroup on ECS motherboards, please give model number of
your motherboard so that others can look up information on the motherboard,
if necessary.
Here is a stupid question. Does your motherboard come with on-board video
graphics? If it does, you may have to disable it from the BIOS if you want
to use an AGP (or PCI) graphics card.
Does the CPU fan spin? Do you hear the hard drive spinning?

I have a ECS board that will not work with certain internal modem
cards. No video.
So unplug everything possible.

I have an ecs k7s5a rev 1.0 that has a similiar problem. After I switched to
DDR PC 2700 RAM (Crucial, 2 DIMMS 256 MB each). I get a video signal when I
install a new card, but when I reboot or shut down and restart, no video. It
worked fine with 2 256 crucial SDRAM sticks, but since the change in memory,
I can't get a viseo signal after first boot. I have the latest official
release bios installed ( I forget the number as I can't see it!!) The cards
I have tried are an older Matrox 8 MB PCI and an ATI Radeon 7000 AGP.
Any suggestions?
Thanks

Perhaps try only one stick at a time.
You may want to try 'clearing' your BIOS with the jumper (JP4 1-2 to
clear and 2-3 Normal) and while it is unplugged from the power source
(wall plug or power connector on the MB) to ensure that any old memory
'timing' are cleared.
Then, if it works, go back into the BIOS and set things the way you
want.
