|

I was downloading files at my local public library (_very_ fast cable
connection) when I got an "insufficient room for file" error message.
I ejected the CDR, through the standard process. But when I tried to
read the CDR at home, neither home system -- one running DirectCD, the
other HP's DLA -- would recognize the CDR. When I ran DirectCD's
ScanDisc, it reports a damaged track, and makes no effort to make the
disc readable -- suggesting instead that I back the disc up and copy
all readable files, even though there aren't any.
Can anybody suggest any free/shareware that will let me at least find
out what could be recovered from the disc, if not repair/recover the
files?
This is the second time I've had this happen, both times with 650-meg
CDRs. Does the problem sound familiar to anybody? Is there a "fix"
for whatever is causing this?
Thanks very much for any help you might be able to offer,
Bill |
