Socket T Arrives & Comes With A Plethora Of Goodies -
legitreviews.com: http://www.legitreviews.com/reviews/lga775/8.html
"Intel has brought a ton of new technology to the table and so far it starts where the previous technology left off. How far will this new technology will go and the performance benefits from it have yet to be fully understood!"

So much to talk about... ...So little time -
hardcoreware.net: http://www.hardcoreware.net/reviews/review-219-1.htm
"When straight 'number crunching' (floating point, integer calculations, gaming, etc), the new CPU's scaled perfectly in line with socket 478-based Prescotts on an 875P. However, when being tested under 'real world' application conditions, the new platform with its increased memory bandwidth allows the Prescott to begin to show life."

Pentium 4 560 and 3.4 GHz EE LGA775 Processor Review
sharkyextreme.com: http://www.sharkyextreme.com/hardware/cpu/article.php/3370921
" The problem seems to be, that while the platform specifications are impressive, it seems to be more sizzle than steak, and it may be a little while before the pieces are all in place to really make use of these high-end platforms. "

Check out the new pinless design! embarrassment

Hope they use thick gold plated contacts...!

I would imagine the contacts on the socket would have to be spring loaded, or some form of pressure against the CPU contacts....if they only use thin gold plated contacts on the CPU I would imagine they would soon 'pit' under the pressure.

Sound like it'll be good fun with the heat and intermittency as they age, they only need become tarnished and ....what a headache.

Here, how long will it be before we get a CPU with a 80Gb memory....to replace the HDD...?

So true... As one article stated:
Quote:
By moving the pins to the socket itself, Intel is offloading a lot of potential RMA's and other various problems from themselves and onto the motherboard manufacturers. Happy Intel - Unhappy Abit, Asus, Gigabyte, etc...
