I just acquired a Shuttle MK40V Ver 1.3a mainboard and XP2500+ Barton chip,
one or both of which MAY or may not be faulty, and its being a pain in the
butt frankly.

Seems to work ok when started and so far seems stable BUT....

Power light is on when PC is OFF.... goes off when powered up.
BIOS clock resets when PC booted after being disconnected from Mains, then
comes back with CMOS Settings wrong, F1 to enter etc messages.

If it was just the latter, I'd assume duff battery and replace it
immediately, but I've never come across this weird LED thing where the light
is on when pc is off and vice versa.

For my own reasons I plan to dual boot with 98SE and XP Pro, so there's a
lot of software installation to do and I don't want to get into the several
hours of OS install, followed by a load of Double installing of other
software (one copy for each OS)

Anyone come across this? Is the LED being on simply a "dead battery detected
warning" or is something FUBAR?
