Hi all,

(I think this may be a windose issue, But it cant hurt to post here as
well.)

I have just installed a Serial ATA accelerator and attached a new 200gig
hard drive to it.
(I also have two IDE drives attached at the moment, 1x20gig and 1x40gig)
all devices are installed with no conflict and device manager shows no
problems.

Here is the problem, I formated the drive using Computer management/Disk
Management. (But I got a Blue screen near the end near the end of the
format, I think it reached 100%?)

now I look at the drive in Disk management and it says it is Healthy.
However when I goto Win Explorer, it says Drive needs formating!

I am formating it from win explorer now but it took about 4 hours
yesterday (I presume this is normal for a drive of this size)

Spec: Epox 8KHA+
Win 2k pro
768Mb Ram
2 network cards
Asus V9280S Gfx
Highpoint Rocket 1520 PCI Serial ATA 150

Thanks

Brin

Hi, you still might want to get the hard disk diagnostic program for the
disk manufacterers web site and run it on the drive that was hard to format,
the program should fix any minor problems with the drive and low level
format it for you, which windows can only do high level format.
