I usually record music (live stuff) onto Verbatim MusicLifePlus cds - but
they are now hard to find - they are discontinuing them I hear. I tried
putting the music on a DataLifePlus disc - and it played perfectly well on
my CD player. So what's the difference - are there any potential problems -
will these work on most cd players then? I use easy cd creator software.
Cheers

Audio CDs are used for stand alone CD recorders.
They cost more then data CDs
There is NO reason to use them on a computer CD recorder.
The only difference is that you pay more for something that you don't need.
That is our capitalistic world ...

The only minor proviso is that Audio discs being intended for use with
standalone recorders must be capable of recording at 1x speed, which tends
to inhibit their performance with high speed writers, for which purpose data
discs will always be an improvement.

And in our country (France) there is a special high tax on audio CDR
that is supposed to go the the recording majors.
Let's say an ordinary data CDR costs 0.50 Euro.(In Spain or Holland ...)
It is sold in France at 0.50 Euro + 0.50 Euro = 1 Euro ( That is to say 0.50 Euro tax)
The audio CDR is sold at 0.50 Euro + 0.50 Euro + 2 Euros = 3 Euros (That is to say 2.50 Euro tax)
