I formatted a cd with roxio Direct CD. It takes up a lot of space. Can I
get it off?

Just open direct CD (double click the system tray icon or from the
Easy CD project selector) then click on the erase CD button.

You end up with a blank CD.

It depends what sort of CD. If it is a rewritable you can erase it. A CDR
cannot be erased, so you are stuck with it.
The format overhead is the price you pay for having direct access from
Explorer etc.

Erasing a DirectCD formatted cd-rw disc is a two-step process: First
erase with DirectCD and then do a full erase in Easy Coaster Creator.
