My cd-rw drive won't burn disks anymore

I have a cd drive. Right clicking tells me it is a teac cd-r58s. This page
seems to show the right
http://www.teac.co.jp/dspd/product/optical/cd-r58s.html: 8X write/24X read
capability

I recently did a clean install to go from W98 to W2K. I think I burned a
disk or two after getting W2K but for some reason my comp now thinks this is
a CD-R drive, not a CD-RW drive.

A friend told me to right click on the drive, select properties and select a
CD-RW driver. But that's not working for me.

How do I get the right driver for this.

On the page (li:driver pw:all):
http://members.driverguide.com/index.php?action=dosearch&qm0=teac+r58s&qa5=3&qa7=1799&dp=2&sm=b&jmd=and&fzz=b

I found:
teac cdr 56s TEAC America
CD-ROM / CDRW / DVD r56s10p01.exe
submitted by bruno
"firmware 1.0P"
file size: 285.4kB
driver version: unknown
fccid: unknown Win 2000 Nov 5, 2002 75%
installation: --%
stability: --%
compatibility: --%
1 comments download
437 downloads

But I'm not sure that will work.

It doesn't need a different driver under Windows. As far as Windows is
concerned it *is* a CDROM drive.
You could try deleting the drive from device manager in Safe Mode, then
reboot to let Windows, find it again.
