Well, the way AMD uses bus speed and the amount of L2 cache their model
numbers would probably look something like this....

(T-Bred 256K L2 166 FSB)
Model MHz FSB x Mult
2600+ 2083 (166x12.5) *
2700+ 2167 (166x13.0) *
2800+ 2250 (166x13.5) *
2900+ 2333 (166x14.0)
3000+ 2416 (166x14.5)
3100+ 2500 (166x15.0)

(Barton 512K L2 200 FSB)
Model MHz FSB x Mult
3000+ 2100 (200x10.5) *
3200+ 2200 (200x11.0) *
3400+ 2300 (200x11.5)
3600+ 2400 (200x12.0)
3800+ 2500 (200x12.5)

* Real AMD CPU

2.5GHz sounds pretty nice for an AMD right about now, can't even buy one
running at that speed! smile

How about a bit more info like PS type, memory timings, video card, cooling ,
case , multiplier and bus setting, etc. Also is the board a Rev. 1.1 or 1.2.
Ive got a GA-7VAX so I`m more than a little interested. Thanks Jeff

i have an antec 400 watt ps, 2-512 and 1-256 crucial pc3200 ddr totaling
1280 meg, an ati 9600XT, stock cooling smile, a dual bay server case, 1 side
for mobo and other for ps and drives, and board rev. is 1.1

hope this helps. in my bios i dont know what the mem timings are set at but
i have upped the cpu core voltage 5%, the agp voltage 0.1 volts and the ddr
voltage 0.1 volts. system bus speed is 193 mhz, pci bus is at 38 mhz,
agp bus is at 77 mhz, and the ddr is at 386 mhz. cpu core is at 1.756 volts,
ddr is at 2.6 volts, and agp is at 1.6 volts
all this on the stock cooling runs stable at 2509.42 MHz and temps run
around 110-115 F.

i ran sissoft sandra and it is marking my system as being about 2.5 times
faster than a p4 2.4Ghz

Guess it just goes to prove that quality counts. Thanks for the info as I
was thinking of getting a aftermarket heatsink...Maybe a better quality PS
etc. might be a better idea than the generic setup I have. Thanks again

Nice! No problem with scrambled data at such a high PCI speed? That's
what I worry about. (Running a 2500+ at 12.5x180=2250mhz on GA-7VAXP v1.1,
looking at GA-7N400 series now)
