I've had this board for years and it's been a good one. However...I haven't paid any attention to it for years either cause it has always ran good!!

Until Now!!.....

I decided to see how it would run Windows 7 since it is supposed to be much less resource intensive. It runs it good...actually great, except for one thing....

I do the Netflix and Hulu online streaming and noticed that now, even though I have 6mb DSL (actual speed tested @ 5.1mb), which is plenty adequate for this purpose, it now stutters something fierce!! Turns out the browser is maxing out the CPU at 100%.

So...I decide to look at the bios since it never did this before...

Turns out my Abit KV7-V is registering my Athlon XP3000+ Barton @ 1750mhz....that is not right!! CPU and Board is supposed to support 400mhz Fsb, and did in the past!! So I thought maybe the memory was down clocking everything...however the memory (which is ddr 400) is running at 400. So then I look at the Soft Menu in the bios and turns out the "User Settings" will only allow 166-199, when it should be 200-250!!

So...I flashed the bios AGAIN...it's on the latest, v.15 and I've reset the cmos a hundred times and all the standard procedures, only to get my cpu to ring in at 1750.

So I was curious if anyone else is firmiliar with this issue, and if so, what was the fix?

Thanks
Roger

OK....so not too many people hang around these parts anymore!?!?

If I come up with the solution I will post it back here for the benefits of others, in the meantime, if someone knows a solution, it would be greatly appreciated!!

Thanks
Roger
